Waar alles middelpunt geworden is, bestaat geen middelpunt meer.

Verschuiming en virtualisering is een proces waar alles zijn eigen (bewegend?) middelpunt wordt.

De elektrische gelijktijdigheid van de informatiebewegingen resulteert in de vibrerende totaalsfeer van de auditieve ruimte waarvan het middelpunt overal is en de omtrek nergens. (Marshall Mc Luhan)

Met behulp van schuim –als metafoor én als materie- worden op een heel speelse en tegelijk wetenschappelijke manier, elementen als fragiliteit, levensruimte tussen mensen, atmosfeer, … afgetast.
Schuim.Lab is een multimediale performance-installatie waarbij door middel van scenografie, beeld, geluid/live muziek & zang, tekst en performers een hele wereld gecreëerd wordt waarin het publiek (de bezoeker) wordt ondergedompeld.
Een comité van schuimwetenschappers jongleert met bellen, aardbollen, kogels, ballen, globes, schuim… . Ze ontdekken dat de wereld verschuimt. Schuim dat is cappuccino, kwantumschuim, scheerschuim, schuimplastic, mythisch zeeschuim, antiterrorismeschuim, … . Schuim dat staat voor fragiliteit, individualisme en pluralisme. Het is een soort van veelkamer-systeem met fragiele wanden die tegelijkertijd gedeeld worden en verbinden maar ook delen en scheiden.
De hele ruimte van Echo.Base wordt voor de performance omgebouwd tot een "labOrint", een onderzoekslaboratorium. Een hele wereld met vele kamers wordt geconstrueerd waarin het publiek rondloopt en verschillende ervaringen opdoet.
